Tokyo stocks down 0.87 percent by break





TOKYO–Tokyo stocks fell 0.87 percent on Friday morning after an overnight slump on Wall Street driven by fears that tighter US monetary policy is on the horizon.


The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 113.27 points to 12,901.31 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was 1.52 percent, or 16.60 points, lower at 1,075.21.
