HONG KONG–Hong Kong stocks rose 0.27 percent at the open on Friday, a day after China said manufacturing activity on the mainland improved in April.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged up 60.69 points to 22,194.66 in the first few minutes of trade.
The market was closed Thursday for a public holiday.
