Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (Avid) member The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCI), the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet cars in the Philippines, showcases its latest offerings—the Colorado and Spark—at the ICON Innovation in Mobility Expo on April 5-7 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
ICON features two powerhouse events—the ICON Forum on April 5 and the Innovation in Mobility Expo.
Built on a century of Chevrolet trucking heritage, the Colorado is engineered with the best combination of power, durability, comfort, and economy in its class. Its new, state-of-the-art Duramax engine has undergone rigorous tests, under tough and varying engine loads in Africa, Asia, and North and South America. Plus, its strong and stiffer chassis offers better driving feel and handling on all terrains. The Colorado 2.8L AT variant is capable of producing 180 hp at 2380 rpm of power and 470 Nm at 2000 rpm of torque which are both best in its class. Both 2.8L 4X4 variants (manual and automatic) come with a Common Rail Direct Injection system and Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) with intercooler that provides efficient power delivery across the rpm band. The Colorado 4X4 variants come with electric drive mode select that allows the operator to choose between two different 4X4 modes as well as 2-wheel drive. Shifting of drive modes while on the fly is possible up to the speed of 100 kph. It’s definitely the heavy-duty drive for the tough and adventurous driver.
Equipped with a dependable and fuel-efficient 1.2- or 1.0-liter engine, the 2013 Chevrolet Spark can zip through city traffic or zoom through an open highway. Despite its small size, it has spacious interiors that can comfortably fit five adults. To accommodate flexible cargo loading requirements, the second-row seats are capable of folding to a 60:40 split ratio. Apart from its global quality standards built, the new Spark is designed to promote fun with its motorbike-inspired digital driver information center, dual cockpit layout, cool entertainment system, and improved exterior and interior details.
ICON (Innovation Congress), the third Avid Thought Leadership Forum is presented in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Themed “Action Towards Viable Innovation for Development,” ICON marries AVID’s core mission of fostering the development and growth of the Philippine automotive industry and the country’s economy with DOST’s National Innovation Strategy.
