New coco mills head





MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III has appointed Jose Alfonso Poblete president and chief executive officer of the United Coconut Planters Bank-Coconut Industry Investment Fund Oil Mills Groups A and B, Malacañang announced on Sunday.


Poblete, a consultant of the UCPB-CIIF Oil Mills Group since 2001, replaced Jesus Arranza, who was appointed to the UCPB board of directors in the seat previously held by Poblete. Arranza was president and CEO of the UCPB-CIIF Oil Mills Group since September 2011.


The CIIF OMG is a conglomerate of oil milling and refining companies acquired by the government in the 1970s with some P2.5 billion worth of coco levy funds. UCPB is the CIIF administrator. TJ Burgonio
