9 gov’t agencies in Gokongwei malls

By

Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. is now hosting satellite offices of nine of the government’s busiest agencies in an enclave created within its major shopping malls to make it easier for people to apply for passport renewal, a driver’s license or conduct other tedious transactions with the government.

The property developer announced on Wednesday that its pioneering “Robinsons Mall Lingkod Pinoy Center (RMLPC), which debuted a year ago, now hosted the following government offices: National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-Ibig), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Registration Authority (LRA) and Department of Tourism (DoT).

RMLPC was envisioned to be a one-stop destination for people needing to transact business with different government agencies. Robinsons Malls envisions to put up an RMLPC in all of its malls across the country, a move seen to benefit the transacting public while boosting foot traffic in its shopping malls.

“By hosting some of the busiest government agencies, RMLPC is providing a very welcome and appreciated service to Filipinos who have been spared the difficulty, inconvenience and discomfort of transacting business in the national or regional headquarters of these offices. To date, more than five million Filipinos have been served by the Lingkod Pinoy Centers,” said RLC president and chief operating officer Frederick Go.

“Robinsons Malls is the first and only mall chain that offers government-related services that are housed in one, self-contained facility,” Go added.

On Wednesday, DFA National Capital Region Central inaugurated a new space at Robinsons Galleria. It will open to the public Thursday. DFA-Lipa City will open September 26 at Robinsons Place Lipa and start serving the public on September 27. DFA-General Santos City will be inaugurated on September 21 at Robinsons Place GenSan and will open September 22.

“By offering viable spaces to bring government agencies closer to the people they have to serve, Robinsons Malls are showing in a very unique way its appreciation for loyal patronage and demonstrating that they are as much into public service as they are into doing business profitably,” the RLC statement said.

The agencies located at the centers have adopted mall hours, remaining open a few hours beyond the usual closing time of public and private offices. Some agencies also adjusted their work days so the public can transact business on weekends.
