1 bidder wins 2 BCDA auctions

By

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has awarded two pieces of property in Taguig City to a single bidder following separate auctions.

BCDA vice president Nena Radoc said via text message that the state-owned corporation approved the awards to a certain Simon Paz for making the highest offers for Eastgate Parking Facility and the Sampaguita East Ramp.

“Mr. Paz’s bid for Eastgate of P190.76 million was 56 percent higher than the set floor price of P122.41 million, and bested two other bids. His bid for Sampaguita of P47.55 million was higher by 65 percent than the floor price of P28.76 million. Paz won over four other bidders,” Radoc said.

Sought for further information on the winning bidder, BCDA said Paz participated as an “individual bidder.” Radoc said the state firm had asked Paz for a short profile, which would be made available soon.

Bidding for the Eastgate parking facility was held on August 23 and that for the Sampaguita property was on August 24.

Radoc said there were several bids received for the 3,099-square-meter Eastgate parking facility in Bonifacio Global City and the 1,224-sqm Sampaguita East Ramp lot in Fort Bonifacio.

BCDA will conduct post-qualification or verification and aims to announce the winner by next month, she said.

The Eastgate parking facility is fit for institutional use such as school, hospital and government office, according to BCDA officials.

The Sampaguita property can accommodate mixed-use (residential, commercial, institutional) development.
