Makati hotel completes first phase of multimillion-dollar renovation

I was pleasantly surprised to see the newly renovated lobby of the New World Makati Hotel (NWMH). The 595-room property has completed the first phase of its multimillion-dollar renovation.

Brilliantly executed is the minimalist new lobby and lounge, with clean lines and a thoroughly modern vibe. Singapore-based White Jacket designed the hotel’s new spaces, giving it all a hint of Oriental influence.

Even the driveway is redone, with sculptures gracing the entrance. Upon entering, the marble floors, dark wood furnishing and strategically located, bold accent pieces blend well together to create an impressive lobby.

The Lounge, across the grand marble staircase, receives guests for informal meetings or allows visitors the opportunity to people watch over refreshments.

The new Events Gallery serves as a showroom for fresh banqueting facilities and services. Two premier function spaces are introduced: Gallery 1, located at the lobby level, accommodates a maximum of 30 guests, and Glasshouse room on the second level is ideal for events of up to 100 attendees.

The Ballroom has also been refreshed and outfitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual systems, banquet and conference tables with leather seating and new Luzerne chinaware, Hepp silverware and Smeg or Nespresso coffee machines.

On the same level is the Jasmine Chinese Restaurant. Modern Chinese interiors with oversized fabric lampshades complement the dark wood flooring. Elegantly appointed objets d’art are found throughout the restaurant’s main dining hall and private rooms.

The hotel’s top four floors have not only been redesigned, but also renamed the Residence Club. Guests are welcomed at the 24th floor by an elegant reception area with a panoramic skyline view as its backdrop. The new Residence Club Living Room is illuminated with natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows.

NWMH The Lounge

Residence Club guestrooms and suites have been totally modernized with hardwood flooring, open closets and enhanced bathrooms. The rooms are also appointed with new artwork, lighting, draperies, furniture as well as new bedding and signature bath linens.

The Club floors have a dedicated new concept, design, name and signature amenities. Residence Club features a luxuriously comfortable environment reminiscent of a private home, with extensive benefits available exclusively for club floor and hotel suite guests.

Ideal for both relaxation and meetings, the Residence Club Living Rooms are divided into comfort zones—the dining area serves buffet breakfast and menu dishes and the living room corner guests to lounge on cozy sofas and library space.

The hotel property also features an extensive fitness center with outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna. A dynamic 2,000-square-meter function space for meetings and conferences is also available. It’s all fully described at www.newworldhotels.com.

It’s great to see the New World Hotel all set to compete in Makati’s super upscale, five-star hotel sector. With it added to the list, there are now six or seven excellent properties within a stone’s throw of one another. Consumers can only benefit from all the one-upmanship.
