Volvo Philippines launches luxury 5-door, 5-seater hatchback

The All-New Volvo V40, a modern expressive car, with characteristics from larger Volvos wrapped in a sleek, compact package, is now in the Philippines. This 5-door, 5-seater luxury hatchback combines trendsetting design with class-leading driving dynamics.

“The All-New Volvo V40 is a bold expression of challenging the conventional. With great focus on the luxury look and feel of the car, the All-New Volvo V40 offers you a more engaging and personalized driving experience. With keen attention to detail, the All-New Volvo V40 also reflects Volvo’s promise of a car that is designed around you,” said Miss Loi Concepcion De Guzman, Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services.

The wide shoulder line stretches back from the headlamp with a sharp line to echo the rising beltline. As it reaches the end of the rear door, it sweeps up into an integrated “hook”, inherited from the legendary P1800.

The highlight continues rearward into a very full powerful section that resolves into the tail lamps. The roof silhouette contributes to the impression of a car leaning forward — eager to take off.

The car is finished with a dynamically sculpted rear to further emphasize its width and muscular stance and with the lower area “blacked out”, it further creates an athletic, low and wide look.

The All-New Volvo V40 features a new fully graphic interactive dashboard with personalized layout and information that enhances the intuitive and uncomplicated driver experience.

With the Volvo Sensus, all in-car infotainment settings are presented on a five-inch color screen in the upper part of the instrument panel. The integrated screen makes it easy for the driver to keep his or her eyes on the road. All the functions can be operated from the steering wheel or via controls located directly below the color screen.

This Volvo hatch also boasts class-leading driving dynamics thanks to focused attention to a number of vital areas. The chassis is designed to offer the agile, connected experience that creates true driving pleasure.

The rigid body and low center of gravity promote an alert, quick-responding character that focuses on the driving experience, yet without compromising ride comfort. In combination with the automatic six-speed Powershift transmission, the All-New Volvo V40 will be available locally with a four cylinder, 1.6-liter GTDi T4 engine with 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240Nm, including a 30Nm overboost.

“We are happy that the All-New Volvo V40 has finally arrived. With keen attention on vital aspects such as design, functionality, engine performance, chassis and driving dynamics, the All-New Volvo V40 is set to create a whole new level of fun driving experience,” said Miss Roselyn M. Dimalanta, First Executive Vice President of Viking Cars, Incorporated, the exclusive distributor of Volvo cars in the country.

At a very attractive introductory price of P2,288,888.00, the All-New Volvo V40 offers incredible value-for-money wrapped in ultra-sleek style, highly intelligent features and trademark Volvo safety. (advt)
