MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday said the government was aiming to reduce its cash transactions by 80 percent by yearend.
“Though the cashless purchase cards and other similar reforms, government transactions should be 100% and 80% cashless before the end of this year,” Aquino said during the Good Governance Summit at the Philippine International Convention Center.
During the summit, the President cited the launch of the Cashless Purchase Card which would allow government transactions to be made through electronic means.
