LPG price cut anew effective Thursday

Isla Gas has slashed the price of its Solane brand of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by 50 centavos per kilogram, excluding the value-added tax, effective Thursday.

This lowered the price of an 11-kg cylinder of the cooking gas by P5.50.

The latest price adjustment reflected the 1.3-percent decrease in the international contract price of LPG to $955 per metric ton in January 2013, from $968 per MT in December 2012.

Prior to Thursday’s price drop, LPG prices ranged from P670 to P810 per 11-kg tank, according to the Department of Energy. Amy R. Remo
